Wrap the cuff snugly around the upper arm above the antecubital area (the inner aspect of the elbow). When measuring an adult's blood pressure, place the lower border of the cuff about 1รข€³ (2.5 cm) above the antecubital space. The center of the cuff bladder should rest directly over the medial aspect of the arm. Most cuffs have an arrow for you to position over the brachial artery. Then place the bell of the stethoscope on the brachial artery at the point where you hear the strongest beats.
